Amtico or can I go cheaper for the same sort of thing?!

We are currently fitting our kitchen diner and will need new flooring. This could (it does at the moment) extend into our hallway. It is a reasonable sized area as we live in Victorian house. We have laminate Quik Clik wooden flooring at the moment. Looks nice (or it did!) but is now chipped in places and the dog slips a bit on it so was looking for something more cushioned etc like Amtico. I wasn't over impressed with Quik Clik tbh.
I don't know much about cushioned flooring, just know Amtico is a good name...are there other alternatives which may be more reasonably priced but are as hard wearing and look as nice? I realise I could go and talk to a flooring shop but am always a bit concerned they will push what they want to sell to me.
Thanks for any input!

Yes, there are lots of cheaper brands now. Different suppliers will sell different ones.

Amtico do a Spacia range which is their way of competing with the cheaper market. I'd look at that too.

We had Blacktex fitted in our kitchen in June. Love it.

Take a look at Polyflor Camaro. They don't have as big a selection as Karndean et al. but are probably better value and quality than, for example, Karndean Knight Tile range.

We are just fitting Moduleo click version of LVT. Very easy to fit and looking great so far. Very happy.
