I have a £600 quote to replace 2 internal doors and adjust a third door. Is this about right please?

Way over priced..0

Depends on the quality, type etc of the doors and the age and type of the house, it could be way overpriced or dirt cheap.
How much did the other quotes come out at?0 -
doors are ash veneer fire doors costing about £90-100 in Travis Perkin
All 3 quotes were around £600. I am in London so I guess they are more expensive0 -
Wow, London labour prices are steep!
My chippy would get this done in a day and i pay him £150 a day.0 -
Unbelievable cost to me being a careful northener. Door hanging isn't the easiest job but £100 - £200 would be my expected range in Cheshire.
If you live in an expensive house in a nice area all quotes are higher. If I quoted to clear the guttering on a footballers garage I'd charge more if I thought I could get away with it.
One of my bosses years ago used to move his flash car off the drive before he got anyone to quote for any work, they saw a posh motor and thought "He can afford it".Mr Generous - Landlord for more than 10 years. Generous? - Possibly but sarcastic more likely.0 -
£300 to hang a door..:rotfl: Where I am about £70 to hang a fire door.0

I forgot to say I am supplying the doors.
No, then.
It probably depends what needs done. Will the doors need cut to size, does the hardware need fitted, do you need to redo the facings.
Anyway, if you've got a few quotes and they are all similar it sounds as though that is the going rate for the work you need doing in the area you are in, so you either go for it, do it yourself, or don't bother getting the work done.0 -
