Thomas Cook Currency Cards

I have been assured both by Martin Lewis :money:and by the Financial Conduct Authority no less that the money on my Australian dollar Thomas Cook Currency Card is safe. HOWEVER...


I am concerned that, should I try to use it over there, I might be refused as it has been tainted by the Thomas Cook name.:(


How do I go about transferring the assets over to another Aussie Dollar currency card without being penalised?

You cannot. You just bought a silly card in the first place.

You might be able to use it to load up another card, but you will be hit with a 5.75% exchange fee.

TBH - unless you are staying in a hotel, car rental etc where they need to "swipe" the card for a deposit nobody cares which card you are using because they don't look at the cards.

Some random retail/bar worker really doesn't look that hard at the card as long as its "approved" by the machine. Especially now with paywave/contactless
