Euro Car parks fine dispute

I wonder if anyone can help? Last month after a long drive I pulled into a petrol station near lords cricket ground as I was very tired and my car was running hot. I parked in a clear area away from pumps. Went and bought a coffee from the garage then sat in my car waiting for it to cool down and to drink my coffee. That took forty minutes. Now I’ve received a £100 fine ( due at discount rate by 11-10-2019) from euro car parks saying I over stayed my 15 MINUTE allowed time. I drove back there recently to check signage, there is a sign there I didn’t see stating only 16 minutes allowance. But my car was overheating and the coffee was very hot too! Do I ignore this or complain and appeal or what? What is anyone’s experience with these cowboys?

Nine times out of ten of these tickets are scams so consider complaining to your MP.

Parliament is well aware of the MO of these private parking companies, many of whom are former clampers, and on 15th March 2019 a Bill was enacted to curb the excesses of these shysters. Codes of Practice are being drawn up, an independent appeals service will be set up, and access to the DVLA's date base more rigorously policed, persistent offenders denied access to the DVLA database and unable to operate.

Hopefully life will become impossible for the worst of these scammers, but until this is done you should still complain to your MP, citing the new legislation.

Just as the clampers were finally closed down, so hopefully will many of these Private Parking Companies
