Old £1 coins

Hi all

Hoping I have posted this in the right place...looked at other threads and couldn't seem to find anything relevant.

I have a few hundred pounds in old pound coins that I have not yet had changed! Are the banks still changing these? I currently bank with Halifax and Natwest...are these two banks still changing the old pound coins?

Also, I have heard that some of the coins could be worth something, but am unsure which ones...I don't suppose anybody could tell me which ones I should be keeping to perhaps sell now or at a later date?

Yes the banks will take them.
