Final Bill (£350!) from outfoxthemarket, 6 months after switch
I switched over (gas & electric) from Outfox the market to Bulb on 31st March this year
I provided an actual reading to them on the 11th Match and Bulb confirmed the final reading with them on the switchover date.
I haven’t heard anything from them since until 6 months later (yesterday) where they have now sent me a final bill of £350!
I foolishly just presumed that as I’d not heard anything the account was settled and closed
I’ve had a quick google and it seems this is against a code of conduct... Please can anyone help/advise/guide me on looking into this further?

If you used the energy then it's up to you to pay for it so you need to check that the bill is correct and pay it rather than hoping you can wriggle out of it.Never under estimate the power of stupid people in large numbers0

Thanks for your reply!
I’m more interested in reading more about this...
On the proposals to compensate when a supplier fails to send a final bill within six weeks, Martin Lewis, founder of MoneySavingExpert.com and Cheap Energy Club, said: "Again, it seems like Ofgem has been listening.
"The idea that you shouldn't get a final bill very late after six weeks is absolutely spot-on. For too long, people have felt that they've left an energy provider and moved on elsewhere, but then, for up to a year later, can find themselves hit with bills of £100s for outstanding energy because the company has not got its act together.
"That isn't good enough. It causes nightmarish budget problems and pushes some over the limit. Quite simply, after six weeks an energy company should give you your final bill, and at that point if it later decides it has got it wrong and you owe more money, it should not have a right to get it off you.0 -
Where is this actual rule you are trying to use .0

AFAIK they are still thinking about it - see here https://www.ofgem.gov.uk/publications-and-updates/customers-entitled-automatic-compensation-switching-problems-1-may
Read it and they are talking about introducing the provision sometime later in the year, but I dont thnk it's happened yet unless any one else knows different.Never under estimate the power of stupid people in large numbers0 -
The only rule I am aware of is the back billing rule. But that gives them one year to produce a bill.If it sticks, force it.
If it breaks, well it wasn't working right anyway.0
