    Exactly, like I said above, spread between OP and wife they're unlikely to exceed the dividend and CGT allowances.

    Secondly, if I extrapolate.... if we assume the £68k is not placed under the mattress or if your name is not DiggerUK, I had understood (possibly wrongly) that that the OP had previously indicated that the £80k would be invested within ISA accounts and that the remaining £68k would be similarly invested outside of the tax wrappers and therefore with it being invested could add to their taxable liabilities.
