Go to LTSB and open a current account with them on Monday. Take ID and the cheques. You should be able to pay in the cheques there and then. (At least I had no problem last December in opening a current account just by walking into a branch: I wanted the 8% monthly saver and had to have a current account there in order to do so.)
Why didn't you want to have your own account? Or you could have added your husband to your account if you wanted a joint one.
Regarding Abbey, though you say your husband filled in forms to add you to the account, did you? Does Abbey have your signature?0 -
I filled in forms and signrf. I wanted it this way as I am now in a wheelchair and have other health problems and its hard to go to places. Got it worked out that joint income is reasonable but separately most banks would think it too low.
Kept my credit cards and pay them off completely each month abd have found my local Sainsburys is supurb on delivery, its just Abbey that is the bother0 -
Abbey now have credit scoring for people wanting to be added on to accounts, so it's possible your application to make it in to a joint account has been declined. You should go back to the branch in question and check.0
