Bank charges reclaim 2019

Bank Charge reclaim 2019. I firstly did try and use the search function but I wasn’t allowed strangely.

Basically I am looking to file a charges claim against my bank with charges going back to 2004.
The period was about 6 years with charges totalling over £3k.

I know it’s a lot more difficult these days but does anyone have any stories of recent successful claims?

I am not to sure to to best word my letter. Any examples?

But I have read that those in hardship may be able to claim still.

I have some debts but I also have Autism and a number of other related conditions.

So I am hoping this will help me in some way?

There were a couple of periods of extremely aggressive charging which put me into additional debt and no help or advice was offered by the bank.

Thanks in advance

    You can't claim historic charges.

If you are in current hardship, contact your bank to see what help they can offer.

You have missed the boat by a decade.

There isn't any. The banks won the court case in 2009. Unfair bank charges complaints are not heard any more.

That is correct. CURRENT financial hardship cases can lead to banks paying a goodwill gesture if you have a current relationship with them. Refunding recent charges is not the only option available to them. They can also suspend future charges for a period and/or put you on a debt reduction plan. In most cases, the refund, when they use that option, only goes back over the last 12 months.

If you have no current banking relationship with them then you cant do it. If they are historic and not current, then it wont meet the current financial hardship criteria.

Did you seek help or advice from the bank?
