Hi,
My sister has started a PPI claim against Next (using Resolver). She has had a letter from Phoenix Group asking her to complete a Letter of Authority for a subject access request from "third parties".
The problem is that the letter does not specifically name the third parties and therefore seems to be fairly broad (although it does states that it is only for information relating to PPI).
The letter states that if she doesn't provide the letter within 14 days the complaint will be closed.
I was going to advise her to write back to Phoenix Group and ask them to tell her who they will be sending SARs to, and what information they need from the third parties. I expect that the only third party would be Next and the information requested would be her account details, but I'm surprised that is not specified in the Letter of Authority.
Just wondering if anybody here had any thoughts on this, including whether it is standard practice in these cases.
Any thoughts would be much appreciated. I've attached a copy of the letter below.

It's obviously a generic LOA which allows them to send the same letter to other complainants who have concerns about PPI with companies other than Next.
It does specifically and clearly mention that only information pertaining to PPI can and will be requested.
It's because your sister complained to the Underwriter rather than directly to Next that she has received this..
Filling in the form can only aid her complaint. So why delay?0
