Gas supplier switch mess

I'm not sure where this may go however here's my situation.
Back in April I used Uswitch to find a better deal on gas and elec from Scottish Power, to whick I got a deal I liked with Bulb. Before the switch occurred SP got hold of me and made a counter offer and this was accepted so Bulb cancelled the switch (I have the email to prove)
I recently spoke to SP as they want to Increase my bill. Upon speaking with them I found out they not my gas supplier and according to the national database Bulb is.
I think SP has messed up here and now I'm in a situation where I have gas and no supplier although National DB says Bulb.
What can I do about this. I'm waiting on Bulb to answer back as I contacted them via their forum.
Help and advice accepted.

Who have you been paying?0

I suspect you’ve been paying SP because otherwise they wouldn’t be getting in touch to increase your payments. What does it say on your bank statements? Presumably they’ve been billing you for electricity at least?0

For gas no one, I've not received any bills or anything from Bulb as they have cancelled the account. It was meant to stay with SP, for SP I've been paying for Elec as I had setup a DD with then and I've checked back and see only Elec has been coming off.0

So I got hold of SP and they have now taken back supply.
I just need to know where I stand legally regarding repayment if any for the supply I had for the months since April.0 -
They'll ask you for a current meter reading and will bill you for the gas used. Or maybe they'll notify Bulb who will bill you for it. Either way, you owe someone so it would be prudent to estimate how much (easily done by your own meter readings and approximate price per unit) and set that money aside because it will have to be paid at some point. Might take ages though! So I got hold of SP and they have now taken back supply.

Right, so I have one of those new digital meters and SP are the suppliers whom got it initially installed, guess they will get the meter reading.
I'll get it and try what you said as well. Their mess up now becomes my inconvenience.

Just be careful because in all this mess, goodness knows what estimates they'll start to make because the system may see one very low (nil) period, followed by one very high period (this period plus the payback of gas used since April) and make all sorts of assumptions on future use. It shouldn't do if you have a smart meter (is that what you meant by digital meter?) but in my experience these mistakes tend to compound into others and it takes a while to get things straightened out.0
