OVO charging me £578 for gas used in July, help/advice please?

Maybe I'm missing something here, but are people not seeing the final two ACTUAL readings and just assuming that all readings but the last one are estimated?

The below readings are ACTUAL readings shown on the bill provided by the OP:
30/06/2019 24740
03/08/2019 26526

Units used: 1786 - that's nearly three times my annual usage in 34 days. :eek:

I really think that the 03/08/2019 has been misread. This can be proved by taking another reading which I would imagine starts with 25xxx by now.

If the meter is in such an awkward spot, record a video while reaching down with your mobile phone to try and capture the current reading. This may take a couple of tries with and without the flash on.

Edit: Just seen you've moved out the property. Perhaps try asking the new owners for a meter reading, or asking OVO what their opening meter reading was. If it's in an awkward spot, it could be that they have misread it because they aren't used to reading it yet.

Yes there is some confusion as to the 30 June figure being actual or estimated.
If you look at the previous month the reading is stated as being estimated.
