I once went to Cyprus in January search of some winter sun and I've never been so cold in my life. The apartment didn't have any heating so I had to go to bed with my coat on.0

Cyprus risks not being warm enough.
Canaries or Eilat would be my choice.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. Dosh, I lived just outside Paphos for 3 winters in our own townhouse. Thin walls, our lounge was on 'stilts' with the open parking area directly beneath. Felt frozen daily between the beginning of December to the end of February.....central heating is an absolute necessity.
Similarly, between mid-June and the end of August the place was like a sweat fuelled furnace.0

I always like to make the most of wherever my travels takes me but that week in Cyprus was one of my biggest travel mistakes. I spent the whole week reading in a coffee shop as it was the only place I could find which was warm.
Anyway, I'm off to Cambodia next week for for some autumnal warmth and cheap beers.0

Pretty unlikely in my experience of a fair few winter trips. Worst case scenario is you'll get diverted to land on the nearby island of Porto Santo and then shuttle across on a smaller plane.0
