Underfloor Insulation - anyone got any feedback?

Have an elderly relative that has been offered underfloor insulation. This is placed on the ground floor with netting.
She has been told they just need to lift some floorboards on one side to install. I can't get my head around how they could install it in such a way. Anyone got any more knowledge or pros and cons?
Just worried they may either do next to nothing or just block up ventilation and cause long term issues.

I did ours on a house we were refurbing before moving in. Suspended wooden floor, removed a couple of boards dragged a load of rockwool through, held the rockwool in between the joists with netting stapled on the underside of the joists.
It was hell of a job as I was on my back most of the time. I only did it as we were having an overlay underfloor heating system fitted. If you haven't got underfloor heating , I'm led to believe insulating the floor has minimal impact as heat obviously rises, so you are much better insulating the loft (and walls).0
