saying that I had been fined £100 for parking in a bay without a permit

It is not a fine, it is an invoice from a former clamper.. Youowe nothing unless a judge says so.  Of course it is worth gping to court, nine times out of ten these tickets are scams, so consider complaining to your MP, it can cause the scammer extra costs and work, and has been known to get the charge cancelled.

Parliament is well aware of the MO of these private parking companies, many of whom are former clampers, and on 15th March 2019 a Bill was enacted to curb the excesses of these shysters. Codes of Practice are being drawn up, an independent appeals service will be set up, and access to the DVLA's date base more rigorously policed, persistent offenders denied access to the DVLA database and unable to operate.

Hopefully, when life gets back to normal, it will become impossible for those scammers who are left to continue their vile trade, but until this is done you should still complain to your MP, citing the new legislation.

Just as the clampers were finally closed down, so hopefully will many of these Private Parking Companies.

You never know how far you can go until you go too far.

Is it for the same case?  Are the reference numbers the same?

Yes, it is for the same case and the gladstone reference numbers are the same. Do I need to reply to this, as it is exactly the same as I replied to months ago?

Just as I was starting to think that Gladstones were going to drop the case, another LBCCC. Do I have a legal foot to stand on here and is it worth going to County Court?

Please don't ask that question.  It's unofficially banned on this board, as we hate it so much!  Of course all parking charge cases from useless Gladstones are defendable.

I was parked next to student accommodation, and was told that if the student accommodation didn’t have any spaces left, then I can find some spaces at the other place, where I ended up getting the ticket.

Who told you to park where you did and was this in writing or by email anywhere or from the Uni themselves so you can simply complain, assuming they are picking up emails whcih they probably are?

PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Apologies, but in all the other defended cases that I was reading I did not see anything about several tickets for a permit parking space.
I was told by the Manager of a certain student accommodation, which was the one that I was visiting, that if there are no parking spaces available I can park round the corner at *parking ticket location*. I was unaware that the location given was a separately run student accommodation, and the conversation only took place in person and is unrecorded. It is well known that the Manager is not a very nice person at all, and neither of the student accommodations are affiliated with the university.

basher52's thread where I wrote his defence, is one recent example of multi PCNs at a Uni halls.
