Laptop power lead connection failing

I have a Dell Inspiron 2200 laptop and last week my son was running around the house and kicked the power lead out of the back of the laptop whilst it was connected.
Ever since then the power lead is not conncecting properly the screen keeps flashing and you have to physically hold the power lead connector at an angle for it to take a charge.
Is this something that is easily repairable as it is being a real pain.

Also where is a good place to get a new battery for the above laptop.
Thanks

    Ebay for the battery.

Sounds like its broken the connection to the main board. Not very difficult to fix, but a devil to get to inside the laptop.

Unless you fell comfortable pulling a laptop apart to its component parts, its a job for an expert.
