In practice, what happens if you pay a default notice a day or 2 late?

I have a default notice on my card that was due yesterday.I tried to pay yesterday, but due to what seemed to be an error on their system, it was declined but I was unable to try again as the money is showing as pending in my bank.i got a relative overseas to lend me the money but it hasn't shown up in my bank yet.it will probably reach later today or tomorrow. The company are usually pretty slow sending me late payment letters or updating my account when I've made a payment so I'm guessing they might not catch up with it and default me for a few days.if I've paid by the time they do, would they still default me?

Give them a call explain you tried to pay. There was a error, They should be able to see that on their systems.Life in the slow lane0
