Why do you need to switch off a firewall to download a program? You should be able to just download what you want anyway.
The firewall will be in your "program files" if it's third party or part of your security suite. If you are relying on windows firewall it will be in the windows security centre. Kind of all depends on your OS and what security you know you have."She is quite the oddball. Did you notice how she didn't even get excited when she saw this original ZX-81?"

Whch firewall program do you have?
Do you have an icon near to your clock, normally bottom right of the screen0 -
If you are using Vista there is an option to allow a programme through the firewall in Control PanelWe all evolve - get on with it0

Unless you have a router, I wouldn't switch your software firewall off, ever. Superscraper's first para is pertinent.Ever get the feeling you are wasting your time? :rolleyes:0
