Claims guys fees

Hi Long story short is I previously,to my error, used the claims guys to win a PPI claim & paid the huge fee but now I checked with my bank just before the deadline to see if something was missed & it seems they have come back with something they missed in error, however i did this all myself (lesson learned) but I assume due to the fact the claims co asked previously it seems the bank have advised the claims guys too who have sent me a whole new form for more details (that I have already given to the bank) headed "letter of Authority" I asked advise on MSE and didnt sign the form.

I got paid out not as vast amount but something. The wonderful guys at Barclaycard seemed to be obliged to let the claims guys know this as they had previously acted on my behalf, so now Im getting calls & letters asking for their cut..... where do I stand now as I didnt sign or send back the last authority letter would the old one still be valid or do I take them on ? What implications are there if I dont contact them or should I, and say what ?
Better in my pocket than theirs I say ! Any help appreciated

Make a complaint to claims guys saying that you never entered into a new contract with them and they have no entitlement to the money.

Page 2 - additional client fees. It makes it clear what the CMC has to do and that they could be committing fraud by asking you to pay this money.
  • Thanks yet again, a nicely drafted email sent off quoting the details you knidly added, now to wait and what happens. I assume they cannot class this as a debt yet as I am questioning the legallity of the invoice ?

No they cannot and you would know the stages it goes through.

If they did take it the small claims court, the judge would have a field day with them after reading the ministry of justice publication.

You also get access to the FOS with CMC complaints now. So, when TCG reject the complaint (assumption they will but you never know), you can refer it to the FOS.
  • Great , lets see what happens I will keep you posted & if needed I will take then to the ombudsman like you suggested. watch this space ;)
  • So for anyof you interested, I did finally get a reply from claims guys saying they would not be persuing me for the fees on this, they would not admit they were wrong but said as an offer of good will & due to time elappsed they were willing to drop this. Big thanks to all that helped !
