When Does A Proforma Bill From Economy Energy Become A Final Bill - It Doesn't
I had my proforma bill from Economy Energy back in May. I told them it was wrong and they agreed to revise it. In June, unbeknown to me, they uploaded my revised bill to my account in my favour. And there it has sat ever since, still as a proforma bill.
I contacted Ovo, told them my bill had been revised and told them to send me my cheque. They told me it would take 15 days to process and to contact them again if it didn't materialise which it didn't. So 15 days later I chased them only to be told that it was a proforma bill and hadn't been turned into a final bill so they couldn't pay me at which point I snapped and demanded to know from them why after 4 months it still hadn't been converted into a final bill and sent to them for payment.
They responded that they would investigate and would let me know in 10 days because they didn't know what was going on. So I wait. Just a day later I get another email (I am guessing it has crossed in the system) telling me my bill hasn't been finalised so it can't be paid. It made no mention of the investigation.
So it seems Ovo doesn't know what its doing either. and I am blindly emailing into the ether. The annoying thing is that every time you get an email from these companies, it's from another operative and I have no idea if the next person is seeing the entire email history.
I have sent them the original botched bills and the revised correct bills but noone seems to know why they are still sitting as proformas and haven't been finalised despite being revised,
Doesn't anyone in the energy industry know what they're doing any more???? I would imagine if I'd owed them money I'd of had a baliff on my doorstep by now but since they owe me, and many more of us, the continuous stalling for time is becoming only too obvious.
Has anyone had a genuine final bill in their favour and been paid yet because I'm beginning to believe it doesn't exist.

I'm still waiting for any bill relating to my gas. No response from EE at all.

The OP asked this, and I answered it, last week in another thread.

The OP even responded to my reply then, so did see it
I did see it yes, but 'it's a final bill when it's a final bill' is not really an answer and I'm not even getting that from EE or Ovo. Even if they had the decency to tell me 'well we'll turn it into a final bill when we can be bothered' or 'when we've decided that actually may be we will pay you back your money', or even 'sorry, we're not turning it into a final bill because we haven't got any money to pay you' then at least that WOULD be an answer. Everything else from them so far, has not been anything resembling an answer.0 -
It's also quite irritating that they have now also removed most of my metre read history and all my statements of account from my EE account online. Thank goodness for downloads and screenshots.

That is the same on my account. Old readings and invoices are gone, for the moment anyway.
Click on "Bills" and it takes me to "My Top up history" !?
I've no idea whats taking so long. OVO had my opening readings a few months ago and obviously my opening readings are the same as my closing readings with EE.

Yep that's what I've got. I know why it's taking them so long to pay back credits. It's because they want to keep our money. I guess they want to get the money in from people who don't challenge their bills first before seeing if there is enough left for te rest of us. If it was the other way round and we owed them we'd have had baliffs on the door by now but because they owe us, they're untouchable.0 -
Well I've finally had what appears to be a straight forward reply from OVO as to why Proforma Invoices are not being converted to Final Bills and you have the administrators Grant Thornton to blame for the delay. Only they can release the funds once they have checked the bills so it would seem that as EnergyTwist said 'it's be a final bill when it's a final bill'. Who knows how long that takes since I've already had my bill recalculated once in May after last November's original bill. Like I said before, I bet the system moves much faster when the customer owes EE/OVO. Pfffffff.
