It’s getting to that time of year again. Previously friendly middle-aged women are now brawling over poultry in the aisles of Marks and Spencers’ food department, amateur chefs everywhere are knee-deep in mincemeat and the nightmares containing giant Brussels sprouts just won’t go away. What is it about the Christmas dinner that instils such torturous fear in all of us? And why, year upon god-given year, does everybody churn out the same tired old recipes and serve them up as if they’re a culinary treat? Since when was overcooked turkey and burnt potatoes such a delicacy anyway?

Well not this year. We’ve got five pairs of tickets to give away for the BBC’s Good Food Show in Birmingham from the 28th November to the 2nd December, so you can pick up some top tips for your Christmas menu from some of the biggest names in cooking. Rub shoulders with Gordon Ramsay, get whisked up in an Ainsley Harriott frenzy or simply marvel at a whole range of ingenious kitchen accessories to make your festivities run smoother than ever. All you’ve got to do to be there is answer the following question - so get a move on, Jamie Oliver is waiting!
