Universal credit and leasehold service charges..

If you are a leaseholder and have to pay service charges there is information here https://www.gov.uk/housing-and-universal-credit/property-you-ownInformation I post is for England unless otherwise stated. Some rules may be different in other parts of UK.0

Eventually, if the service lease charges remain unpaid, they (property management co or their debt collection representative ask to approach your lender so beware if you have a mortgage.
I had a recent demand for the latest future service charge very recently and did notice if I needed a payment plan direct with PMC, the charge on top quoted was something like £80 plus VAT.
If you don't find the money to pay on time, you will incur additional hundreds to pay. And I'm not convinced there is any help on UC for this issue. Even Stepchange were mute to this type of issue.0 -

I have enough for now , and will pay it this week .
I was looking into it yesterday and I don't think that they pay all of it only a small part . Thankfully I haven't a mortgage . Still doing the postcode lottery in the mean time
