I'm not 100% sure but if I recall correctly the box marked is for an NMR check (national mileage register).
I think it shows as red if the mileage on the vehicle differs greatly from what was recorded on a previous HPI check or if the mileage can't be verified.0 -
thank you , indeed it is
I asked the seller why he had took screenshot , but missed vital info off
he sent me full clear pic this morning
as this is an old bike for restoration / rebuild , I do not believe its been taxed for 20 + yrs0 -
If the bike hasn't had the mileage entered on a previous HPI check or in this case, a recent MOT test then that would explain why it's showing as red as the current mileage can't be verified.0

thanks
I had a problem with this buy , frame had vin , nice and clear and stamped number but no plate on bike (in bits ) and no v5
the seller did a trade hpi to confirm number and not stolen / written off
the seller sent me scans of chassis number and the vin plate , I asked him for the reg and he did a dealer HPI check
Ha0214**SIX1 comes back as f308vsj , honda , 90cc red
I looked at the vin plates and all looked well so filled in the v62 form for replacement v5 and included the proverbial; PO for £27 , filled the details in from the HPI printout , so as not to get 0 and o or 1 and i wrong
nasty letter from DVLA this morning
do I own it
vrn displayed on front
vrn displayed at rear
who / when did I buy it
photo of vin needed
photo of bike needed
!!!!!! , never had this before
rung DVLA, arranged to send pics and details via email
then the penny dropped
my vin and chassis number say Ha0214**FIVE1 !!!
the seller put wrong info into HPI!!!
hoping I had not bought a write off /scrapped / stolen frame he re ran the HPI check
its clean honda , 90cc red reg no F46* *nu
bad luck both being same model , and same colour
GOOd on DVLA for spotting this and being on the ball , I could have very easily been riding a"cloned" bike around
sat here trying to work out how I explain this to DVLA , they may get annoyed when picci shows a blue bike , was going to send book back for change of colour later , so as to try and not confuse issue0
