  • I don't think it's a good idea to take the heavier 15.6 inch dell XPS or Asus zen pro to school that's if you can find them at circa £550 as they are probably
    north of £1300 new.

    Negativity is rarely a virtue.

As I stated, you use the aforementioned devices as a benchmark.
Pointless spending £600 on a device not fit for purpose.
I'm not suggesting the one above is the best option. Just stating that one has to do better than just looking at HUKD for a £50 off promo code.

For photography/Photoshop; high resolution and colour accuracy. For productivity; NVMe SSD.

You just have to find the right balance. The device you mentioned probably can only cover perhaps 62% of the sRGB gamut. Coupled with a mere Full HD screen.

The one in my link 88.7% of sRGB and 3200 x 1800 pixels Touchscreen

I don't like posting bid items on here, as it can help to push the price up..

You need to talk with her. Is she going on to university or as least further with photography? If not, then a super-duper laptop may be overkill.
If it's something that will feature in her life going forward, then you might want to begin with the right tools.
So have a chat with her about where it's all going.
