How do I change the password to access my laptop without changing my Microsoft password. At the moment they all work on the microsoft password and when grandchildren want to use one I want to tell them a simple password for them to open the pc rather than give my ms one which is also my outlook e mail one..

Why not create a new user on there for them to use?0

I dont know how to do that either so thought a simple password would be easier.0

pretty much you log in as yourself, then goto control panel and look for users (or type users into the start bar)
you should get to the user control centre where you sholud have the option to add a new user.
don't make you password simple as then your system will be at risk, and don;t make the new account too simple either - something using the names of the grandkids (which they should know with a couple of "." and numbers - your house number - eg 81.Fred.Ellie would do.
Not how I would do it but prob best if you're not too sure. and whilst not strongly strong better than Password1 or grampa
Depending on which version of Windows you have the above suggestion will be a bit different when you do it, but you can look it all up on google for your computer if its not obviousI think I saw you in an ice cream parlour

I keep a non-password protected, non-admin, guest account for exactly this sort of use.0

All I want to do is sign in to the pc with another password and not using my ms password. It seems that I shall have to go to my local shop and ask them.
I can re install windows 10 but I thought there would be a quicker easier way to do it.0 -

do you leave you back door open in real life??
I would put a password on, even if you wrote it down and kept it nearby - even if just your favorite football team or somethingI think I saw you in an ice cream parlour

from google https://www.laptopmag.com/articles/create-guest-account-windows-10
Personally I would make their password their home phone number, or your number, that way the will always remember so they can get help if needed
This will not make your disk secure, and with a little effort your password can either be broken or changed. It does keep the casual snooper out, but not a pro. For better security you also want full disk encryption0 -
I do not want to create a new user just change the password of the existing one. It seems that I will have to re install windows 10.0
