Portable DVD screen question

The slave screen has broken. I was wondering whether another portable DVD would connect to our existing player to act as a slave screen or if we would need to buy an actual slave screen. Obviously we have all the cables to connect them together. The children aren't old enough to wear headphones and watch a separate DVD each so both screens need to be able to show the same thing.

What model number? Where did you buy it from? Check ebay!
It could have been worse. At least source code's not combustible, or you can bet somebody at McAfee would have lit it.

It's the SEVIC vision liberty twin.

So it looks like you need to be here: http://www.sevic.com/site/_en_catalogue_sevic_fiche.php?id_catalogue=54 email them, tell them your problem with the unit. If it's a fairly recent purchase they may send you a replacement.

Thanks. The slave screen was stepped on so that's why it has broken. I was just trying to weigh up the options. Either

    a) Connect another DVD player to act as slave screen
    b) Replace slave screen with another slave screen

Obviously it makes more sense to go with option a) as that means I would have 2 DVD players that can be used in isolation OR use them together for one film. I'm just not sure if that would actually work and if you could get a screen with a built in player to act as an extra screen.

If you look at the broken unit, there should be some kind of unique identifier to the actual manufacturer of the lcd unit, as I doubt Sevic actually manufacture them themselves. So if you can grab that and google it, you could find a supplier other than Sevic. You need to look for something like an fccid http://www.computerhope.com/jargon/f/fccid.htm or an equivalent. Otherwise you're left with dealing with Sevic, they list 'Accessories' on their site, including purchasing an additonal screen for some other model of portable dvd players. So they will in all likelihood have spares for your model.

Then it comes down to the cost of an additional screen vs the cost of a whole new unit, as I note the model you have is only £105 at dabs.com so it maybe more prudent to buy a whole new setup than just the one screen. As for connecting a slave screen, that would depend upon the connections available to you on the Sevic unit and how it shares the signal with the slave unit.

Thanks. It might just be worth buying a new Twin screen set up then. And just keep the Sevic one for when I need them for 2 separate films.
