24.11.07 - What DFW thing have you done this weekend?

Options
Things for today so far:

Received my £5 Asda gift card in the post (the Flora offer from ages ago). :T

Decided to start wrapping up my Xmas presents/tidy (well more like shuffle about stuff) my built inwardrobe at the same time.

Have wrapped:
sister 1's present
sister 1's fiance's present
sister 1's fiance's birthday present (few days after X'mas)

sister 2's present
sister 2's boyfriend's present

sister 3 (put 1 item into a gift bag - still to buy the rest)

A few other items have been put into a bag so when I get the remainder of the presents I can find everything.

I have filled 3 small carrier bags with a few brand new items to photograph and Ebay at some point.

Have sold an item on Ebay.
Tesco points: 101 (£21.50, £19.50, £7.50, £21 & £5)
Boots points: £0.28
Pigsback points: 715 (4 xBoots£10 & 1 xPizzaHut£10, 2 x £10 clothing vouchers)
Mutual points: 3417 (redeemed 8250)
Rpoints:redeemed 28925 points)Cashbag:£8.91(£20)

I've been to work and clocked up 8 hours overtime. Don't often work weekends but overtime was offered.......

Haven't spent anything yet as I've only just got in.

    So far so good.
  • I've counted all my 1, 2, 5, 10 and 20p's and it comes to £30! :T

I've swapped my home insurance to Lloyds and saved £6pm with the added bonus of doing it through Quidco (:T thanks for this website) and got £120 cashback!!:j

    My quest continues!! :p

Quidco to date = £1224 cashback

I bought my dad's birthday present on ebay with some of my paypal balance from things I have sold. Brand new sweatshirts, so that's £25 saved, yay and dad will be well chuffed (he can't buy them where he lives).

I've burrowed to the bottom of the freezer and put all the single meals to the top to be eaten before dh comes home in 10 days time, so no food shopping other than bread or milk needed just yet.

I've also stayed in today. Given the time of year and the average shop contents, I would have been bound to buy something I didn't want or need if I'd gone out.

I have spent THREE HOURS working may way through a "get rid of nasty things on your computer" thread (Techie board :money: ) which has not only saved me money on a computer doctor, but will save my sanity.:D

No more disgusting web-sites popping up when I do my on-line banking. Just need to re-enter all my saved numbers. But it is worth it for the increased speed, and the noise of the fan doesn't drown out the radio anymore. Yippeee:beer:

  • Not much if I'm honest. I did get a free Billy Connolly dvd from a guy in ASDA yesterday who told me he 'didn't like him'. Thanks! And my Mum bought me a pair of fleecy pjs for the winter. As I was down at hers overnight on Friday, she made fantastic meals for me on Friday evening and Saturday too, so although it cost me to get down there, it saved me some cash in other ways too.

Should have added that she cut my hair when I was visiting so I've saved a bit on that too!
Almost debt-free, but certainly even with the Banks!

I resisted the 'easy option' of a McDonalds for kids yesterday and we did something from the freezer instead - saved around £12!!

Did a little xmas shopping yesterday.....but went after lunch & took kids' drinks with us......didn't go near a coffee/cake shop:j

    Hi,

Slightly o/t, but could you tell me where I can find this info? I've had a quick look thru the techie board but can't seem to find the thread.
The fan on our computer is also irritatingly noisy, - would love to fix it if possible!

    Thankyou
