<15,000 sales per year across the entire continent.

Of those, a total of about 6,000 registered in the UK

That supports the "not worth spending on RDE certification" theory, don't you think?

That's 871 taxed during 2017 - so total up until then...
    287 in 2015, 655 in 2016 - so just over 200 were registered during 2017.

"Fairly rare", in this instance, means "the public didn't want to know it".

Quite why - I have no idea
The cars were good value, spacious, comfortable, not too bad handing, well equipped and extremely economical

I understand that Swifts and Vitaras are similarly affected (3 cylinder 1.0 engines) - due to failing RDE1 (Sept 2019) being strict
But I bought the car because it was a low emission (115g/km) and average 55 mpg - so why has it failed RDE1 ?
Surely - there are WORSE cars ?

After having barely been aware that Suzuki even sold cars, I test drove and then bought an S-Cross 1.6. I've driven dozens of mid range petrol cars for work and for the price this one was miles ahead.

For a naturally aspirated 1.6 pulling a small SUV the motor is quite surprisingly eager, enough that you can actually have a bit of fun. Certainly compared to a lot of the petrol Capturs and Sportages I've drivien that can barely get out of their own way.

The MPG is absolutely amazing. On a driving holiday to the Netherlands and back I got 65mpg without making any attempt to save fuel. This is compared to similar driving I did with a gutless 1.0 litre ecoboost that managed only 30 something MPG so having no eco, nor any boost when you put your foot down.

On my current commute I'm getting 50mpg, so 450 miles on a 40 litre fill up. Combined with bullet proof reliability they are like Nissan used to be like.

They're the best cars no one knows about. I would be amazed if there's any falsification of emissions data.

No one buy one though, if they get popular the prices will go up.

Simple. It's one thing to pass the NEDC lab test, it's another entirely to pass the WLTP RDE test.

Of course, that's if they really did fail, rather than simply get pulled from the market rather than pay for them to be tested, because the low sales weren't worthwhile.
