I agree, it's not a 'neat little trick' at all. It is there plain to see for all, in fact Marcus even told me about doing it when I spoke to them recently.0 -

Hi all. This bonus rate extension "offer" has been withdrawn. I found out when I logged in today to extend my bonus at the slightly lower rate that was on offer a few weeks ago and found it was not available. I called them* and their customer service dept told me it would not be coming back.
I wish they had warned account holders that this "offer" was about to be withdrawn.

No
Many posters renewed the bonus rate on their Marcus account before the rate dropped to 1.45%.
Some were apparently renewing every few days. Possibly a contributory factor to the withdrawal of that facility :cool:0 -

The rate is now 1.35 for new customers, or those with bonus expired0
