Once I am ready to sell I keep a list on my RM favourites with quite a few parameters .
Once I have accepted an offer on my property I whittle down my favourites with the most important requirements first.
I then have a list of properties and re-check the floorpans again then make an appt with whoever is marketing the property .
I won't go with an online agent as it's after offer the EA earns their money so I prefer a proper EA
That is pretty much it, I never really have any dealings after then, the rest is dealt with by my solicitor .
Having said that good EA's are there to chase other parties in the chain and speed the process up if its lagging.
I 've only had a couple of calls from agents, but they have been just to ask if I'm still looking0 -
Earlier post - I think the reputation of estate agents in general is so deeply ingrained in the public consciousness for very good reasons. They always come very bottom of public trust surveys, so it's a very mainstream view and not at all extreme. EAs must not care about public perception, definitely knowing about it, but still choosing to be EAs as a trade.This is a system account and does not represent a real person. Apparently, there are government plans to require EAs to pass a mandatory qualifications, involving exams, which may sieve out some of the shiftiest ones:

I realise in business anyone selling anything is incredibly friendly in the sales phase.
But all the EAs I've dealt with, and that's a lot, bring a whole new meaning to that idea. Being your best mate while buying...then when it gets tricky or once signed you don't exist.
Keep them at arm's length, and don't trust anything they say after "Hello"0 -
