Slide Viewer

I know it's a long shot but I've just bought a slide viewer off ebay, it came without batteries, would anyone have any idea what size I would need, the viewer is a Boots 35/40? I don't know if the bulb works until I have the right batteries.

Think they use D size, 4 of them. Can't believe how expensive they are now.0

I use similar to these for a torch.

I've usually got AAs around.0 -
This ebay advert says they use 'C' size batteries (but they might be wrong)

I like those battery size converters -- didn't know such a thing existed.0 -

Yes they're handy, IIRC I found them some years ago when looking for something else. (As usual!)
I've got some C size ones that I use in a couple of Tesco LED torches.
I'd probably not use them for anything that was "high drain" though.
Seriously though, to the OP, I'd get a scanner and scan the slides onto the computer if you have many.
I have a Silvercrest one from Lidl. that cost about 25 quid IIRC.
The results are comparable (but at a lower pixel count) to me photographing the slides with a modern DSLR, and dedicated macro lens.0 -
If you take the cover off the battery compartment it will normally say, either in that compartment or on the cover, what size battery is required.0

Or you could measure, and compare to the sizes given here

I remember those.
I would definately get an LED replacement bulb if possible - I think they just used torch bulbs, which get dimmer and yellower as the battery runs down.A kind word lasts a minute, a skelped erse is sair for a day.0
