Shares held in USA/ SEC involvement query

I have been trying to trace a company to see if the shares i supposedly bought are actually real & if the company still exists etc
The contact i had is no longer responding to calls or messages so i have filled in an online complaint with the SEC in USA ( july ) but had no reply so in Aug sent another message via a different SEC page, it was aknowledged as received but still nothing further,last week i sent an independant email to another SEC email address and still nothing!
Can anyone give any advice where i can try next please as i just presumed i would have got some answers from a government department . thanks

No idea how you'd get an American government dept to respond to your query, but I was wondering how did you get introduced to this company?

If you found them via something like a facebook ad then unfortunately you could be facing some bad news.

Give us some details on the companies involved and someone might have some information on them.

I bought them via a family contact of my brothers wife , the company is GSEG ( fantasy sports ) It was showing up on the stock market type pages but with no activity as such .
I was in regular contact with the director ( lives in spain) but then he stopped responding to messages or phone calls .
As far as i knew from the last correspondence the shares had not been actually issued due to some hitch with the company filings and a few other issues which i cannot go into on here .
I fear that the money is now lost and no company is trading now so was just wondering if there was a way of tracing any further .
