Newby Question on Estate Agent Fees
lookforwards
Hello
I'm planning to sell a house and invest the proceeds, I will not be buying another property.
Please excuse the newby question, but do the fees that an estate agent quotes, usually a percentage, include all the costs to a seller? There are no hidden extra charges like solicitors fees etc?
Also the online agents like Purple Bricks seem to get some excellent reviews, are there any drawbacks to using them?
Thanks for your advice

Estate agent fees don't usually include VAT or the cost of getting an EPC. Then there are other costs such as removals, utility cancellation costs (if your still under contract) and solicitors.
Online estate agents vary massively in price, so shop around but the main drawback is that you have to do your own viewings.0 -
Search the property forum for Purple Bricks. There are so many mentions. Most will tell you to use a 'bricks and mortar EA' and not an online one. Some won't view if up with an online one.
I've heard mixed reports.
