I wonder if anyone has had success sorting out a kindle charging issue. Kindle is approx 26 months old.
I believe from reading around the subject that its charger port that is the problem. As I can fiddle around and it might charge for a few minutes and then stops.
I have seen articles saying its a fairly easy fix, new port for about £5 and need to solider it on. I have no soldiering iron or know anyone with one.
I use it a lot but I guess that is what happens when you buy cheap.
Roll on wireless charging!!!!

Have you tried using something non-metallic to clean out the port, phones are the same in that fluff builds up inside the port and stops a good connection.0 -
Phones are more likely to get fluff in them due to being in pockets.Colin_Maybe wrote: »Have you tried using something non-metallic to clean out the port, phones are the same in that fluff builds up inside the port and stops a good connection.
But yes I have. I honestly believe its port rot. The port has loosen so it will only make a connection when in a certain position.
I think I have kindle brick now

I could be sarcastic and say that's nice for you. But I was not asking for advice on how to look after my electronics. I could be heavy handed but its well known issue. Seeing as it seems to be a regular question asked on the internet.
I won't be getting a new one. As I find they are bit to screwed down O/S wise and side loading apps don't always work.

Are you talking about Kindle's or Fire tablets?0 -
Sorry to hear you are having kindle trouble. Have you tried speaking to Amazon to see if they can help?0
-
Send it back to Amazon stating it's not of merchantable quality and get a full refund.0

Sometimes it's just the USB lead. Have you tried different leads?0
