Advice on Universal Credit assessment period and payments

Aeg04, you are right to log an MR each time. However at the moment I believe DWP have said they will not implement the judgement because they have appealed to a higher court. They are going to have enormous difficulty implementing it if the judgement is upheld because it completely undermines the conceptual framework on which UC is built. For people without children or LCW, who therefore have no Work Allowance, it doesn’t make any difference to the amount of UC they receive over a year. However for those who do have a Work Allowance it can make a difference. In general people who are paid monthly but end up with two monthly payments in one assessment period are more likely to be impacted by the issue covered in this case than are people paid weekly, fortnightly or four weekly.Information I post is for England unless otherwise stated. Some rules may be different in other parts of UK.0

Sorry for late reply calcotti...yip you're right they have appealed, just found out recently myself but I'm still pushing on , apparently they should still be adhering to the ruling up until they win an appeal (if they do)...who knows, it's all so complicated! Your right about the ppl recieving the work allowance are most effected...which is ironic being that UC claim they want to help people in work lol also seems to be mostly single.mothers affected. Thanks for replying, hopefully ill get my appeal hearing soon and I'll keep you posted, it'll be interesting to see what happens 🤞 😊0
