Recalling money transfer within the same bank

Hi guys,
I have initiated a money transfer order from Halifax Credit Card to Halifax Debit Card, which had x% transfer fee and 0% interest.
By the time I called them they said the payment has went through - though it has not cleared yet on the other end (same bank - halifax, but debit card). They said will place a request with another team for recall but not sure if this is possible.
I will have to wait for when they get back to me next week for a definitive answer, but I would appreciate anyone with knowledge or similar experiences commenting on likelihood of them sorting it out?
As I am a bit stressed now, since it's a hefty fee and have to wait until week to find out if they can recall this... I would've imagined since it's the same bank it would be simple, but alas...

Does seem a bit odd that you would do this by accident. The money transfer doesn't actually go to your debit card, it goes to a bank account.
The worst case scenario is that you have to use the credit that will probably arrive in your bank account and pay it back to your credit card account, sucking up the MT fee yourself - sorry.
Slightly better case would be for the same to happen but for Halifax to agree to refund the MT fee if you plead having done it in error - can't see why they'd not help you out this way.
Best case would be for them to find some way of halting the process before it completes.
Whatever happens, if you plead your case with Halifax, you stand a good chance of not having to pay the fee.
Good luck.0 -

Thank you, appreciate the comment and clarification RE: credit going to bank account not debit card.
It doesn't look like they can halt the process - as it was raised with some other team, and was told should expect to hear or call them next week. Whereas the transfer is set to clear by tomorrow.
Which is a bit weird because on the CC statement it says authorised but not charged yet, which I would've thought they would've been able to cancel.
I guess just have to wait and see now. Thanks.0 -
I seem to recall that banks say that balance transfers (so presumably money transfers as well) cannot be cancelled or reversed.
You don't say exactly why you changed your mind about the money transfer after having requested it.
Not sure why you are expecting them to take until next week to get back to you either. The funds will have been received in your current account by then.
Do the words 'authorised but not charged yet' really appear somewhere on your online banking credit card statement? If Halifax use same system as Lloyds the amount will have been deducted from your available credit but will not yet have appeared on the online statement or balance. There is nowhere where such wording could reasonably appear.0 -

Thanks.
The why doesn't really change the circumstance, so didn't go into that. And as previously said, they are the ones who told me to wait until next week over the phone, until some other team they handed it over to will look into it.
Here's the screenshot of where it says it, with the MT listed under it: i.imgur.com/1uNI665.png (wasn't able to attach as0 -
Oh I see. You mean it is listed under pending transactions.0
