Looking for advice
I’ve just look at my accounts and have just realised I’ve been paying for a O2 phone and contract that has not been used for 3 years ! Is there a way to claim the money back ? The handset was only cheap about £150 tops !

Cheap handset? £150? That's not cheap! How much have you paid O2 over the past 3 years?
I am no expert, but I wouldn't think that you won't be able to claim any money back. It would be your responsibility to check your direct debits regularly and make sure that none need cancelling, and indeed your responsibility to cancel your contract. 02 would not know that you aren't using your phone (well, their computer system would probably yield up the information that no calls have been made in three years if someone interrogated it). Did you not receive monthly statements from 02? I have a phone contract with a different provider and I get a statement every month.
You had better check further into your accounts that there is nothing else you are paying for that you no longer need,This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -

Not o2's problem. Yours.
Why has it taken three years for you to notice?0 -
We get loads of calls like these at work.
Customer: I've just realised that I've been paying for your channel for 8 years and I only wanted it for a month, can I have all of my money back please?
Me: No.
Followed by lots of laughter after the customer has hung up in a strop.0
