WFAC claiming fee after over 3 years

I submitted PPI complaints over 3 years ago and had most pay out. One of my complaints came back from Barclaycard stating no PPI so no further action was taken. Forward 3 1/2 years and Barclaycard wrote to tell me they had given me incorrect information and that there was in fact PPI on the account and to claim I would need to do a new request. I did this myself and have now received a cheque. WFAC have now sent me a text to say they have had notification of payment and they will be writing to me detailing their fees.
Do I still owe WFAC after all this time and completing the new request direct?

If the Claim Firm accepted there was no PPI three years ago and closed the case then there is no longer any contract. You should certainly challenge them on this and go to FOS if necessary if they don't back down.0

As per the many recent posts on the same subject, the answer remains the same. No.
Once the CMC close the complaint, they cannot reopen it without getting a new letter of authority. Many will try it on though.0 -
Thanks for the responses.
I will push back harder on them if they continue. They are claiming that as it is a review of one they did for me that I still owe them. I have said that I will not pay as they had no letter of authority and I did the form myself direct with Barclaycard so they are not owed anything. They said they will put me down as refusing to pay and will pass it along to collectors. I guess I will wait to see if they pursue any further.0 -
Put in a formal complaint. CMCs are now regulated by the FCA and that gives you access to the FOS if the CMC reject your complaint.
Dont wait until they start chasing for money via collectors. Get the complaint in now.0 -
