HSBC Advance Members Reward scheme - any good? Free?

Hi
We've recently opened HSBC Advance accounts (to benefit from the switch bonus).
They've asked us to register for their "reward program". Looks like it is free - can anyone confirm?
It seems to offer discounts on meals, travel etc and occasional small freebies.
It includes "free membership to Take Time Out - HSBC's lifestyle hub".
Are the offers worthwhile, definitely free and do you get bombarded with emails if you register?
Many thx.

I don't remember ever finding something worth using.
Mostly discounts you could already find elsewhere or token amounts off things that are already far too expensive. Inferior to Amex and Santander deals in my experience.0 -

They are free. Personally I never bothered with them, the ones that are worth it are already available via other free means, the rest are simply junk.0

I have never bothered with the HSBC rewards programme, or the Barclays one, or the now defunct Nationwide one. The Santander one was good for a while but for the last year or so they had nothing that I valued.
I use Quidco, Topcashback, HotUKDeals as well as various price comparison sites if I am after discounts.
It depends what you are after - as a general rule, shopping around can result in significant discounts.0
