My daughter is currently going through a difficult separation/ the house is in joint names but her partner pays the gas and water bills. He’s stopped the dd for these, and she because of working part time is unsure what to do as she doesn’t want to suffer regards credit listing and impacting upon her ability to get credit in the future. Help!

I’m not been funny but just because the house is in his name too, if he ain’t living there, why would he pay utility bills?
I know I wouldn’t either.0 -
The key point is, who's name are the Gas and Water accounts in ? In terms of the effect on credit history, it'll be the person who holds the account that will suffer. Of course, if the bills go unpaid that will raise issues in terms of the ongoing supply of the services - to that end, the two of them need to come to some agreement as to who is going to be paying the bills. But purely from a credit history point of view, it's the named account holder that will suffer.0

If you're not named on the bills then it makes no difference, regardless of who is named on the mortgage.
Now, not paying the mortgage, is an entirely different matter.0 -
Not all utilities report to your credit file, is she no longer living there ?
Only the person whose name the accounts are in would be impacted by non payment.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free wannabe, Credit file and ratings, and Bankruptcy and living with it boards.
