The £100 is trapped at 19.9% APR whilst you pay off the BT at 4.9% -which also attracts a 3% BT fee

    Wonderful offer!

Not that bad - you spend the £100 first and then pay it off, then do the transfer. Helps to think things through rather than rush in and do the transfer.

I had a £4k limit from Lloyds TSB a few years ago, so hopefully they will offer me at least £2k, which is all I really need.

I sent off my application in mid December but have not heard anything, nor has a search been recorded on my credit file.

Did anyone else apply for this, and if so have you heard anything or how long did it take to be informed?

I got the airmiles card straight away.... not a great limit £1500 but its came in two days with no creidt check. I would have prefered a higher limit though......)-:

You can choose which card to apply for. I saw this offer on my accounts screen too and applied on spec. They offered £3500 and the following day an account was already opened for me (number and credit limit) Two days later the pin has arrived - just waiting on the card now as I intend to use it for purchases for six months [fees - yuk!]

I have only been using the LTSB account since October (when offered an upgrade) to put cheques through (etc) and also have their monthly saver account. I'd guess from the speed of approval that the checks carried were not of the same kind as when applying as a 'new' customer [but that would just be a hunch]

  • Hi all.

Last month I had an inquiry regarding my Lloyds/TSB current account (which I have had since I was 18) 24 years. I have never had any problems with the account, I have paid off my mortgage and I have no other credit at the moment.

Anyway, when I phoned them they told me I was entitled to a credit card, and whether I would like to have one. They told me I would have the card within 10 working days.

At the time I said no, but on reflection I thought 'why not' so on the 19th I filled out an online form. It is now 31 March and I had heard nothing. I telephoned Lloyds/TSB who put me through to their card services department. They confirmed the date of the application, and stated that they were currently in the process of doing 'checks' and the process will take a further 5 to 7 working days.

What irritates me is that they were 'unable' to tell me whether I had been successful or not, and that they would let me know by post either way. By the time I hear from them it will be almost 3 WEEKS since I made the application. One of the reasons I applied was that I am off on holiday on April 20 and I would like to use the free insurance which is attached to it.

Why could they not have simply said 'Yes, you have your card, subject to standard security checks ... ' I have an account with Experian and it confirms that some kind of check was made against me on 19 May. How darn long does it take to make a decision ? and how could I have been 'pre-approved' when they are unable to confirm NOW whether I am going to get it or not. Surely, in view of the fact that the check was made on 19th they would have turned me down had that been the case?

I have never had a credit card before and I always assumed the process was simple and quick. Evidently I am mistaken !

    Hi,

I applied for the LTSB Classic CC in May (on my request), and was accepted. I do hold a LTSB Current Account with LTSB. When I got my free Creditexpert & Equifax Credit Report this month, I was very surprised to see no credit searches being done in May. Of course I'm not sure does this apply to all cases, but you might want to take this into account?

I was surprised I was searched for taking up an overdraft with LTSB though!

If the overdraft search was done first, then they will probably rely on this for a few months afterwards. They have to pay for each search, so will minimise their costs whenever possible.
