2017 Seat Leon sat nav firmware update?

I was in a “2020” Seat today and noticed the sat nav display looked a lot nicer than mine. Do the older models receive firmware (as opposed to map) updates when they are serviced by a main dealer? If so, has anyone had their screen display improve?

The map display on mine looks quite dull and boring compared to the newer one...

Yes, but there are no applicable settings. Also, I have noticed the menu option of updating the firmware, yet have had a Leon previously (with main dealer service) and never been informed of any updates to firmware of any kind on the car, hence my question.

I will be passing later this week, so will ask the sales side about the better looking display on later models and see what they say.

The Leon was facelifted in 2017, with one of the changes being billed by the motoring press as improvements in in-car tech. Is yours a facelifted car?

Even if it is, it's entirely likely that the hardware may well have had a quiet upgrade over the period, too.

Assuming there's no differences there, then an upgrade may be possible - but I'd expect it to be chargeable at the dealer, as with map updates.
