I have unfortunately been on universal credit since February 2020 due to a heart condition. I am a self employed carpenter under CIS self assessment tax. I normally apply for a tax rebate in April/May. Once it has been filed do I inform UC or do HMRC notify them automatically? Also would all my universal credits stop as it is a lump sum or just a percentage of it? I have a wife who works (been furloughed at the moment) and 3 children.

It would have been better to have started your own thread with this question, rather than ask on someone else's thread.

You will need to report it to DWP (minus your expenses) and it will be classed as income during the month it's received.
