    The extension on my house, built around 1975, has catnic type steel lintels over the doorways & windows - Pretty certain that it was part & parcel of building regs back then. If some of the flats in your block have lintels, then it is a fairly safe assumption that your flat will have them also.

    Had it been a conversion of a Victorian property, then it may well have had timber lintels (either separate, or part of the window frame).
