Benefits stopped without notice

I have a zero hours job and my income varies. I had been able to fund myself exclusively for 4 months up to June. In July I only earned £500. This was paid to me on 30th August, and so would have fallen within my "assessment period" with the job centre of 18 Aug to 18 Sept. Therefore I was expecting to be paid perhaps £100 to £200 in Universal Credit today. I logged onto the jobsmatch page and I had to start a new claim.

What's up with that? I had receieved no notifications of this previously and was told numerous times in the JC that they would keep me on file if I earned enough to recieve no UC. So I guess they lied to me?



I earned less that month than I would have on benefits.

I earned less that month than I would have on benefits.

If your earnings during your assessment period reduces your UC to zero this will close your UC claim. You can just log onto your account and re-apply, rather than just starting a new claim.

You mention jobsmatch page, what is that as I dont think it that has anything to do with Universal Credit.

Universal Credit has it's own sign in portal.
