Is this a scam? Lealta Benefits

I have today received in the post a plastic card from Lealta Benefits with a letter that reads:-

Quote:
Thank you for opting to take out your WORRY FREE PLAN with your warranty provider. Enclosed is your exclusive Lealty Benefits Discount Card which is a complimentary gift from your warranty provider to all of its valued customers who chose to pay by direct debit.

The exicting new card offers you a hugh range of tangible bedefits and discounts which wll be your passport to a world of great savings! Use your card to take advantage of benefits at a hugh range of shops, online retailers and service providers.
It then goes on to list the company's discounts have been arranged with.

Then it reads

Quote:
Should you have any questions relating to your WORRY FREE PLAN with your warranty provider please phone 01204 672400

So now I am worried I don't have a clue who this company is, what warranty provider they are talking about, how they got my details, and what direct debit etc etc

The telephone number above is answered DRL but the office is close weekends, the letter has come from Aspinall House Middx, Bolton, BL6 6QQ, but at the bottom of the letter it reads Lealta Benefits, Lealta House, Amy Johnson Way, Blackpool FY4 2RP Lealta Benefits 08717 899999 (which is not being answered) Registration number 0602 4643.

Has anyone had any experience with this company? I am rather concerned especially with the news this week about confidential information going missig, hopefully I am worrying over nothing

I have a card which I have recieved from my union " UNISON" which I haven't used yet so I hope its not a scam
  • Hi I used to work for the compnay and it is genuinely all above board. I only left due to personnal circumstances. They offer big businesses staff and customer discount cards to save money on local and national companies. They have a full team working really hard to get the best discounts out of companies. They only thing to note is that most nationals are discounted vouchers...but locals take the card as discount..really is a good benefit.

I am just about to pick up my card tomorrow, it looks like a good deal, I am also with UNISON.

Does anyone already use this card and what kind of benefits and discounts can I expect to get, is it worth having??
    thanks
  • Hi, iv'e tried to use my card in ASDA SAINSBURYS DEBANHANS but no-one seems to have heard of LEALTA so please advise me whats happening ???
  • We've had this through Unison too. It's a discounts scheme - normally to buy things like shopping vouchers and get a small discount. I.e 5% off when you buy A*da gift cards. You normally don't use the Lealta card in store, but buy in advance.
    Countdown is a similar scheme.
