Price increase after written confirmation of holiday booking received

Has anyone else fallen victim to the cottages.com "computer glitch" on the weekend of 14/15th Sept?
I booked a holiday with them (at a good price) for next summer (2020) but they called about a week later to say that they had had a computer glitch that weekend and that the actual price of the holiday was more than double what I had booked it at so I would now have to cancel or pay the full price.
They have straight away offered vouchers for the inconvenience but not suggested that they can cancel it on my behalf instead saying that I have 2 choices (cancel or pay more) and said that they are not liable for the deficit caused by their error.
I have received the booking confirmation in writing and had the deposit taken from my bank account. Am I right in thinking that is a binding contract and that any changes in price can only be made prior to written confirmation or if I have done something to breach the agreement.

If its a clear error (which half price could certainly be seen as) then they have the right to correct the mistake.0

If it's an obvious error then they put you back to the position you were in prior to you booking. You get your money back.0

So if I don't choose to cancel or pay the increase, they will cancel for me anyway?0

If the parties didn't agree what the price is (e.g. because of an obvious error) then I don't think there's even a contract to cancel. So the deposit should be coming straight back and everyone starts at square one again.0
