Claim Yours Limited - They have £5500 for me?

I received a cold call (first warning sign) from a company called, 'Claim Yours Limited' (Google shows it's a legit registered company).
Nice woman explained they have successfully claimed some money for me from Barcley card for a PPI Claim. Alot of maths later and apparently theres just under £5500 for me.
She explained that the fee would be £468 and she could send through the documentation via email, which I agreed to.
received the info through and the company looks legit, maths adds up and theres a good few pages of T&C.
Final page i need to sign and email back.
Although it does state there's 'No Win No Fee' it also states the final amount will be released after I pay the fee.
All sounds a little strange but the company seems above board, yet alarm bells are ringing.
Anyone had similar calls, issues or experience on this one?

Well the first alarm should be the PPI deadline has passed.
The second.... even if a complaint was possible they would have no way of knowing any amounts.
Third.....up front fee.
Has scam written all over it.0 -

It's.A.Scam.
Blindingly obvious. If this was above board the worst behaviour they would do is send you the difference saying they've already deducted their fee (even though they weren't entitled to it)
However they've made themselves look legitimate in your eyes, maybe through cloning a real company or faking info or whatever, is irrelevant, the mode of operation is classic and to be blunt, you've completely missed the ball in not seeing that this is a blatant scam. At least you get some points back for asking.0 -
all of the above....and a Clone of a Dormant Company by the looks of it.
AVOID!!!I work in Data Protection and spend my days dealing with CMC's. Only here trying to help!!0 -

No, it doesn't !!!
Google may show there IS a (possibly) legit registered company called 'Claim Yours Limited'.
How do you know where the call came from? (answer = you dont).
A couple months ago i answered a phone call, a recorded message played when i answered.
The message said (I paraphrase) "This is BT and we will cut your internet off due to fraud unless you pay us money, press 1 to start payment"
And you know what, i googled "BT" and it is indeed a legitimate company* but that didnt mean i paid them !
*yes OK I know some might take exception to that0 -
(Google shows it's a legit registered company)
Google is not a way to measure that.
Claims companies are now regulated by the FCA. There is no company on the FCA register called Claim Yours Limited.
This means they are not authorised by law to transact in the area they are transacting in.Nice woman explained they have successfully claimed some money for me from Barcley card for a PPI Claim. Alot of maths later and apparently theres just under £5500 for me.
Nice women do not attempt to scam you.All sounds a little strange but the company seems above board, yet alarm bells are ringing.
it is advance fee fraud.
1 - company is not authorised by the FCA which it needs to be
2 - Barclays would have broken the law if they have given the company details and the money.
3 - Barclays would actually respond to you directly. They would need a signed letter of authority from you to allow the CMC to act on your behalf but they would also write to you directly and pay you directly.
4 - advance fee fraud is where a scammer sells you the idea of a pot of money waiting for you but to get it you have to pay them a smaller amount of money up front.
5 - Companies House shows this company is dormant (i.e. not trading).
You should report them to action fraud (you can do this online). The FCA also have scams report page too.0 -

According to your posting history, you already received your PPI refund back in 2012;

As, with most folk, I put an 11th hour submission to alot of banks (purely in the off chance as lenders are behind other names) for outstanding PPI I may have not known about.
So I was expecting some contact and this call fitted into the timing.
The 'nice woman' knew my basic details (name and address) which is more than most and the background story was certainly 'interesting' but as there was some evidence (being a named company, Having company details on Google and well set up documentation) there was a more legitimate feel to the whole thing.
So, as I can normally spot the basic scam, this seemed to throw up a few warning signs but also a few credible points too.
I took to the forums for advice.
And as per usual you guys haven't let me down.
*Update*
'Michelle' phoned back today and asked if I had reviewed the documentation. I asked some investigative questions, knowing it was defiantly a scam, and she was quite forthwith with the upcoming actions.
She would provide a 'Solicitors' bank details and once I deposited the fee of £468 I was to call her back and she would transfer £5492.50 into my bank account, of course it wouldn't transfer straight away as it would take 4-6 hours.
so yes, this is a scam, but to be honest it's rather good as the story and the 'Michelle' character are well written and played.0
