giving passwords would be against GDPR

No it wouldn't if they are requested and handed over willingly
  • Do not share passwords with anyone. Even if they use different passwords for each site, they're likely to use a pattern (place/pet/kids names, TV shows or something) so giving one password is a hint to what the others might be.

I'd simply clarify exactly what information they need and say you'll provide whatever is asked to the best of your ability, but unless they can prove they have a legal right to all the account details stand your ground and say you believe you don't have to provide passwords to anyone.

Perhaps the Work Coach is suspicious about the claim, because your parents have given impression that someone else is doing all of the online administration.

Asking for passwords may be to check whether your parents have any control over what is being entered online.

For example if someone else has the Universal Credit password, PSN etc and could report changes to the UC claim, then that might be a concern.

I would suggest that your parents show the Work Coach that they can log into online accounts and they are in control of online activity. That they are just receiving help from Son/Daughter.
The comments I post are personal opinion. Always refer to official information sources before relying on internet forums. If you have a problem with any organisation, enter into their official complaints process at the earliest opportunity, as sometimes complaints have to be started within a certain time frame.
  • The coach could even start applying for jobs on the account without the jobseeker's consent.

Applications will get an acknowledgement email, so that could be forwarded as proof of application if that's what's required.

Sharing passwords is not a breach of the UK’s Data Protection Act.

But the law says that “appropriate” security measures concerning personal data must be in place and that those with access must be properly vetted. Also
obligations under the Data Protection Act to keep personal data secure
