Admiral Plug and Drive, how long do you keep it?
Hi everyone.
Just out of curiosity, did anyone use their Plug and Drive and for how long did you need to have it in your car? Originally they were supposed to install the LittleBox, which goes behind the dashboard, but after paying for the insurance they changed it to "Plug and Drive", a device which you keep plugged in all the time, and it's constantly in the way!
I've started using it at the end of July, and been consistently getting Silver score, and my last two scores were "Gold", but there's still no sign of them telling me when I should be sending it back.
So if anyone's been using it, I'd appreciate some insight into when it might finally be over!

Is it not for the duration of the insurance cover?0

Do you actually have a black box insurance policy with Admiral and if so then when did it start and is it for 12 months? Black box policies usually require the black box to be active and monitoring for the whole period.
If you question is about the location of the box the is it one of these? I can see why it might be in the way depending on where the lighter socket is.

Your insurance policy is a black box policy. So you need the black box for the entire duration of the annual policy. It's that simple.
If it's plugged into the ciggy lighter, and you want to plug something else in instead, then get something like...

Mount the adaptor securely, so vibration doesn't affect the black box.0 -
You need to read your insurance policy.
Admiral did do a plug and drive that you plugged in for 3 months and then sent it back to them to work out a premium discount.
You might or might not have one of these, you need to find out.0 -

The thing is it's not that simple. Not all of their policies require the black box to be fitted for the full duration.0 -
Then the OP's policy Ts & Cs will specify if their particular policy differs from that generality.0

Presumably the only answer here it to phone Admiral and ask?0

yeah, it plugs into my 12v socket, and it isn't supposed to be in the car for the full 12 months. the terms and conditions only say they will at some point ask me to send it back to them, and on the phone they just say "can't check that, it's up to the system, can be whenever".
hence me asking here if someone might have had it, and if so, for how long0 -
How long have you had the policy?0
